Surat Al-'Aĥzāb (The Combined Forces), Chapter 33, Verse 59:

33:59

"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful." (Quran 33:59)

Surat An-Nūr (The Light), Chapter 24, Verse 31:

24:31

"And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed." (Quran 24:31)

Surat Al-'A`rāf (The Heights), Chapter 7, Verse 26

:7:26

"O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember." (Quran 7:26)

LGBT by JAKIM

17 February 2017, 20 Jamadilawal 1438H

English translation of LGBT video by JAKIM

"After we understand the terms, now let us understand how Islam interact with the issue. Verily, there are some muslims that have non-heterosexual orientation, but standing firm in Islamic teaching. To them, it is a test from Allah. They prefer to face the test as per demand by Islam.

Surat Al-'Anbyā' (The Prophets), Chapter 21, Verse 35:

21:35

"Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned." (Quran 21:35)

How to change the same sex attraction

We have to realize that same sex attraction (SSA) is like horse riding. It can be train although quite difficult. When a person realize that his sexual orientation differ than another people and try to change it, he need training and guidance that take times. In conjunction to that, what should he do to change the sexuality?

  1. Bear in mind that he wants to change for the sake of Allah, not because of coercion from anyone else.
  2. To perform 'taubat nasuha' (sincere repentance :- repent and trying not to repeat again).
  3. To leave the things that may lead you to be LGBT again. (such as pornography).
  4. After the sincere repent, the next focus is to fulfill sexual desire by marry to opposite gender.
  5. Otherwise, to control the sexual desire by fasting, just like encouraged by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
  6. To respect and protect own dignity.
  7. Bear in mind that not all people are SSA.
  8. Be in a good positive environment and intercommunication with good and nice people.
  9. Be patience and remember Allah always. Daily prayers may remind you of Allah.
If you have a LGBT friend, you should be patience and rely on Allah. Face it with wisdom with an intention to help him until he can change. Remind them of the straight path. Maintain his dishonor, except he himself revealed it to the others.

Allah can turn your heart back and forth. Allah is sufficient for us. Make dua (supplication) to Him and rely on Him, for all the things in our bodies including the sexual orientation be in the way that accepted by Allah.

Abdullah b. Amr b. al-'As reported that he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
"Verily, the hearts of all the sons of Adam are between the two fingers out of the fingers of the Compassionate Lord as one heart. He turns that to any (direction) He likes. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: 0 Allah, the Turner of the hearts, turn our hearts to Thine obedience."

Suffering brings you closer to Allah

5/2/2017, 8 Jamadilawal 1438H

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 155:

2:214

"Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said,"When is the help of Allah ?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near." (Quran 2: 214)

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 286:

"Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.
It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned." (Quran 2: 286)

Kifarah

Kifarah is the return of God in the world of sin committed by a servant, God tests also may occur, which may involve the death of a loved one, loss of property or illness , regardless of whether the disease occurred in the period of time or intermittent depending on the conditions ( qada ‘ ) Divine or forever until death . As long as the conditions ( qada ‘ ) for pain was not timely qada’ God , then pain ( kifarah ) above will not heal despite many efforts by human di.sini clearly proves that some of the disease will heal on its own even without human effort to get healed or not healed despite a lot of efforts have been done to cure it.

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Among the inmates of Hell, a person who had led the most luxurious life in this world will be brought up on the Day of Resurrection and dipped in the Fire and will be asked: 'O son of Adam! Did you ever experience any comfort? Did you happen to get any luxury?' He will reply: 'By Allah, no, my Rubb.' And then one of the people of Jannah who had experienced extreme misery in the life of this world will be dipped in Jannah. Then he will be asked: 'O son of Adam! Did you ever experience any misery? Did you ever encounter difficulty?' He will say: "By Allah, no my Rubb, I neither experienced misery nor passed through hardship".
[Muslim].

2:153

"O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient." (Quran 2: 153)

Surat 'Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran), Chapter 3, Verse 173:

"Sufficient for us is Allah , and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs." (Quran 3: 173)

Prayer times

10th January 2017, 11 Rabiul Akhir 1438

Sun position for prayer times

As a muslim, we are obligated to perform prayer 5 times a day; Subuh > Zohor > Asar > Maghrib > Isyak.

When we perform prayer, we pray facing towards Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Kaabah as a symbol of unity and sign of direction. However, we worship Allah, not Kaabah.

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 144:
"So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]." (Quran 2: 144)

Prayer times and Kiblah of Putrajaya, Malaysia on 10th January 2017

1st Prayer: Subuh (Fajr)

The dawn prayer begins with first light and ends with the rising of the sun.

Surat An-Nūr (The Light), Chapter 24, Verse 58:
"O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayer. [These are] three times of privacy for you. There is no blame upon you nor upon them beyond these [periods], for they continually circulate among you - some of you, among others. Thus does Allah make clear to you the verses; and Allah is Knowing and Wise." (Quran 24: 58)

2nd Prayer: Zuhur

Noon is considered to be the 2nd prayer part of the day, mentioned in Quran 11:114, as the Quran speaks to us of at least 3 parts/edges to the day in Quran 20:130.

Surat Hūd (Hud), Chapter 11, Verse 114:
"And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." (Quran 11: 114)

Surat Ţāhā (Ta-Ha), Chapter 20, Verse 130:
"So be patient over what they say and exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied." (Quran 20: 130)

3rd Prayer: Asar

The middle prayer is from the rubbing of the sun at noon, until the approach of night - marked by the setting of the sun as per Quran 38: 32.

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 238:
"Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah , devoutly obedient." (Quran 2: 238)

Surat Şād (The Letter "Saad"), Chapter 38, Verse 32:
"And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]." (Quran 38: 32)

4th Prayer: Maghrib

The evening prayer begins with the setting of the sun and ends with total dark.

5th Prayer: Isyak

Night is decreed as a time for mediation and reflection. Thus there are no fixed prayers during the night.

Surat Al-'Isrā' (The Night Journey), Chapter 17, Verse 79:
"And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station." (Quran 17: 79)

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Bible and Quran

19/12/2016

2:146

"Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognise him (Muhammad SAW or the Ka'bah at Makkah) as they recongise their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammad SAW which are written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)]. " (Quran 2:146)

1. Muhammad's name in bible

God starts the chapter by drawing our attention to a very special person that He will send. He describes this person as:

"Behold, My Servant whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations." (Isaiah 42: 1)

"Here is My servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations (Gentiles)" (Matthew 12: 18)

Isaiah is originally written in Hebrew. Hebrew and Arabic shared lots of common words because they are both semitic languages. Prophet Muhammad is also known as Abdullah, Mustafa and Habibullah.

Another names of Prophet Muhammad:
God's servant = 'Ebed' (Hebrew) = 'Abd' (Arabic) => Abd-Allah (The servant of Allah)
God's chosen one = Mustafa (Arabic)
God's delight = Habibullah (Arabic) => Beloved of Allah

"His mouth is most sweet, and he is altogether desirable. This is my beloved and this is my friend,
O daughters of Jerusalem." (Song of Solomon 5: 16)

Translation of Hebrew Bible to English

Prophet Muhammad's name in Hebrew language (the origin language of Bible)

Muhammad means 'The Most Praised One/ The Praiseworthy/ altogether desirable'.

2. Illiterate
Prophet Muhammad was an illiterate man. He cannot read and he cannot write. There is no way that he copied the bible. There are some similarities between Islam and Christianity because we are all from the same God, and Allah (God) revealed the books of scripture for human to follow. Allah appointed messengers (Prophets) to warn human to worship Allah, not to worship idols, pagans, another human being, and all of His own creation. All these prophets brought the same mission, to preached human to worship Allah. The prophets restored messages from the prophets before themselves.

Prophet Muhammad is the last prophet and Allah perfected the religion of Islam (Quran 5:3). That's why there is no other prophet and scripture after Prophet Muhammad and Quran.

"The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which when they give it to the one who is literate, saying, "Please read this," he will say, "I cannot, for it is sealed."
Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying, "Please read this." And he will say, "I cannot read" (Isaiah 29: 11-12)

29:48

"And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt." (Quran 29:48)

The first word revealed to Prophet Muhammad through angel Gibrael is "Iqra" which means "Read"

96:1

Recite in the name of your Lord who created - (Quran 96: 1)

Let us increase our knowledge by READ the Quran and other books that can elevate our intellectual and knowledge.

3. A New Prophet

"I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him." (Deuteronomy 18: 18 - 19)

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you." (John 14: 15 - 17)

4. The Last Messenger

"Behold, the former things have come to pass. Now I declare new things." (Isaiah 42: 9)

"But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning."
(Gospel of John 15: Verse 26 - 27)

"But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned."
(Gospel of John 16: Verse 7 - 11)

"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you." (Gospel of John 16: Verse 12 - 14)

33:40

Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah , of all things, Knowing. (Quran 33: 40)

Why non muslims can't enter Mecca?

14/12/2016
Kiblah

Kiblah means the direction of the Kaaba (the sacred building at Mecca), to which Muslims turn at prayer. Kiblah is a direction for prayer, as a sign of unity. However, muslims do not worship the Kaabah, but muslims worship Allah, the creator directly. The Kaabah was built by Prophet Abraham and His son, Prophet Ishmael. Muslims follow the words of Allah in Quran:

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 144:

2:144
"We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do." (Quran 2:144)

I went to the Putra Mosque for volunteering after work yesterday. I had a chance to meet 2 tourists from Sweeden. They asked me, "Can I enter Mecca since we are non muslims?"
My answer is, "You need to be a muslim before you can enter Mecca". Mecca is for the muslims only. It is a place of worshipping, not for tourism. Though Mecca is very historic and large, it can't afford to have billions of muslims worldwide at once. That's why the Saudi government set quota for each muslims from each country to visit Mecca. Logically, it is prioritize to allow the muslims that worship Allah to enter Mecca, rather than those who do not worship Him.
Allah mentioned in the Quran regarding the prohibition:
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter 9, Verse 28:
9:28

Sahih International
O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise. (Quran 9: 28)
Malay
Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui, lagi Maha Bijaksana.
Surat 'Ibrāhīm (Abrahim), Chapter 14, Verse 35:
14:35
Sahih International
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.(Quran 14: 35)
Surat An-Naml (The Ant), Chapter 27, Verse 91:
27:91
Sahih International
[Say, O Muhammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [those who submit to Allah ] (Quran 27: 91)

2:216

Sahih International
Fighting has been enjoined upon you (to fight against aggression) while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

Surat An-Nisā' (The Women), Chapter 4, Verse 19:

4:19

Sahih International
O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.

Ayat Kursi

19 Ogos 2016, 16 Zulkaedah 1437

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 255:

2:255

Sahih International
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Quran 2: 255)

Volunteering at Putra Mosque, Putrajaya

17 August 2016, 14 Zulkaedah 1437

Few weeks ago, after I took my Cambodian friend to visit Putrajaya and Putra Mosque, then I interested to become a volunteer at the mosque. Mosque is the most nice and peaceful place to be. Also, as Putra Mosque is one of the tourist attraction, so I have chance to meet new people from all over the world, making new friends and practice my english.

So, I send a message to Masjid Putra's facebook, asking whether they have volunteer program and who should I refer to, then they gave me a senior volunteer's phone number, brother Raja Aman Shah.

Here are some questions ask by the tourists regarding Islam and Putra Mosque:
  1. When was this mosque built?
  2. Why does the male and female have to pray separately?
  3. Can they pray together at home?

Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) commands in war

15 August 2016, 12 Zulkaedah 1437

Who do you think that a fighter can kill?

Other than human being, a good muslim can't kill or destroy animals and plants as considered as living things as well. Every living thing is made of water.

Surat Al-'Anbyā' (The Prophets), Chapter 21, Verse 30:

21:30

Sahih International
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

24:45

Sahih International
Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
