No killing of innocent people

15/6/2016, 10 Ramadan 1437

Surat Al-Mā'idah (The Table Spread), Chapter 5, Verse 32:

5:32

Sahih International
Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

When Adelaidean comes to town...

11/6/2016, 6 Ramadan 1437

A friend of mine, James Bell came from Adelaide to visit Malaysia. I knew him in Adelaide. I used to work as a housekeeper at a house in Hutt St where he lived with his mates, Douglas Sweet. Just came to know that Doug used to lectured James at uni where he did his first degree in Queensland. Doug is a Phd holder.

Me and my friend, Natrah took him to Malacca the historical city on a daytrip.

10.00am  Leaving Nilai to Malacca.

11.30am  Arrived at Dataran Pahlawan. Asked James to have his lunch first while me & Nat went to the mall to collect Nat's winter jacket as she is going to Japan winter festival next year.

12.30pm  Visit Stamp museum, Malay & Islam museum and Malacca Sultanate museum. Hoping to visit all the museum nearby, but didn't have much time, plus quite tired of fasting. So we asked James to see A' Farmosa and climbed the hill, while me & Nat went to the nearest surau for prayer and rest.

She even bought us drinks. James loves 'kopi susu', and he really like the beef rendang. Yes, it was the best beef rendang ever!!!

Putrajaya

10/6/2016, 5 Ramadan 1437,

Surat Al-Ĥujurāt (The Rooms), Chapter 49, verse 13

49:13

Sahih International
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

Malay
Wahai umat manusia!

When Adelaidean comes to town....

Today, I will have a friend, James Ronald Vernon Bell (James Bell) coming for visiting from Adelaide. I knew him at Uni when he was doing his 2nd degree. Well, don't misunderstood, he's not my boyfriend. I love making friends, and when i'm in oversea, I am happy to invite people to come and visit Malaysia. That's what we should do as a Malaysian isn't it?

Will take him to visit Putrajaya on the first day, and Melaka on 2nd day. Where and what are the interesting nice places to visit in Putrajaya? He will come after I finish my work at 5pm, then he will return to his accommodation in KL, probably at 10pm, so will have about 4 hours to see Putrajaya. Such a quick trip.

Besides the central of Malaysia, I recommended him to visit Langkawi. I reckon it is nice for the tourist to visit Langkawi during Ramadan as not too crowded. Last year, I also had a guest from Adelaide, Glenn & his son, Ethan. They went to Langkawi for 5 days. Hoping that they will enjoy their stay in Langkawi. I prepared a list of nice places to visit in Langkawi. I will share on my blog as well.

These are my list, but will keep update if any:

1. Bazar ramadan/Pasar Malam
2. Masjid Putra
3. Masjid Besi
4. Taman Botani
5. Building and bridges along Presint 2 to Presint 4.

Where else to visit?

Will keep updating :)

Justice

9/6/2016, 4 Ramadan 1437

JUSTICE IN ISLAM

Surat Al-Mā'idah (The Table Spread), Chapter 5, verse 8:

5:8

Sahih International
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah , witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do.

Life begins at 40???

6/6/2016, 1 Ramadan 2016

When a person celebrating his birthday, he should be aware that the time is running, the clock is ticking. As the time goes by, we are closer to our own death actually. Are you ready enough for that? As we are normal human being, our life cycle is repeating; baby-adult-old-baby (alike). Amazing huh? Sooner of later, we will return to the same God the creator, despite our belief. Even if you are an atheist, that do not belief in God's existence, you will facing Him in the hereafter too, just like others.

Surat Al-Ĥaj (The Pilgrimage), Chapter 22, Verse 5:

22:5

Sahih International
O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

From this verse, it is understood that the life cycle of human is repeating; baby-adult-old-baby (alike).

Surat Ar-Rūm (The Romans), Chapter 30, verse 54:

30:54

Sahih International
Allah is the one who created you from weakness, then made after weakness strength, then made after strength weakness and white hair. He creates what He wills, and He is the Knowing, the Competent.

When in Malaysia, I can see most of the people here have same hair colour eventhough we are from different races (Malay, Indian, Chinese, etc), and different religion. When I went to Australia for studying, also I saw many other different races (European, Arab, South African, Kenyan, etc). Despite having different genetics, hair colour (blonde, black, ginger, etc), skin colour, culture, religion but all of us will have the same white hair when we grow older.

Surat Ghāfir (The Forgiver), Chapter 40, verse 67:

40:67

Sahih International
It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason.

Life begins at 40...

1400 years ago, it's been told that 'life begins at 40'. It was not created by the western philosophy, but it's already written in the Quran.

Surat Al-'Aĥqāf (The Wind-Curved Sandhills), Chapter 46, verse 15:

 46:15

Sahih International

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

I love to read what my state mufti said about this verse in his blog post: Bila Usia Menjelang Empat Puluh. He interpret the verse as at the age of 40, we should repent for our mistake done in our life, and be a better person.
From this verse also, Allah asked us to obey and love our parents as without them, we won't be alive in this world. As a parent, a mother is obligated to breastfeed her own baby up to 2 years. Otherwise, if she can't, the parents should discuss and come out with solution such as hire someone to breastfeed the baby.

Wallahualam...
